That’s why we’re so pleased that we have earned the prestigious B Corp certification. We are proud to join this community of Certified B Corporations (B Corps for short), which includes brands that we personally respect, such as Patagonia, Ben & Jerry’s, Seventh Generation, Allbirds, Eileen Fisher, Stumptown Coffee, Stonyfield Farms, and Dr. Hauschka Skin Care.
B Corps are putting people and the planet before profits, building a more inclusive and sustainable economy, and redefining what it means to be successful in business.
The B Corp certification, started in 2006, recognizes for-profit companies that use business as a force for good. B Corp companies use the power of business to solve our most pressing global challenges, such as wealth inequality, climate change, and social unrest. B Corp companies are working toward reduced inequality, lower levels of poverty, a healthier environment, stronger communities, and the creation of more high-quality jobs with dignity and purpose.
To date, there are over 3,500 Certified B Corporations in 150 industries and 74 countries. Over 100,000 companies manage their impact with the B Impact Assessment and the SDG Action Manager. Total combined revenue of B Corps globally is 67 billion US dollars.
Becoming a certified B Corporation is a rigorous process. B Lab, the governing body of B Corp certification, reviews all business functions – ranging from the merits of the product offering, employee benefits and broader HR policies, and financial management, to the company’s involvement in the community, corporate governance, and environmental impact.
B Corps are legally required to consider the impact of their decisions on all stakeholders: the customers, workers, communities, and the environment. B Corps meet the highest standards of positive impact on society and the environment.
At The Humphreys Group, we frequently emphasize the importance of clients’ living their values. By becoming a B Corp, we are doing the same thing. Our clients’ trust is paramount, and by becoming a B Corp, they can know with certainty that we’re not just talking the talk — we’re walking the walk.
